Fall 2026 Transit Updates and Changes
Welcome back, Gators! As you prepare for the Fall 2026 semester, please review the important updates below for RTS and Campus Connector routes and service.
The first few weeks of the fall semester are typically busier than normal as new students, faculty and staff learn their way around campus and Gainesville. Please allow extra time for your commute and expect increased traffic and possible delays as everyone adjusts to the start of the semester.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work together to ensure a smooth start to the semester.
Fall 2026 Transit Changes At A Glance
- Campus Connector: A new three-route system will provide improved service and connectivity across campus.
- RTS Routes 9, 33 and 37: Additional buses will operate during peak periods to help reduce overcrowding.
- RTS Route 21: Service will continue during the Fall 2026 semester for this new route added during Spring 2026.
- RTS Routes 9 and 38: Weekend service will no longer be available due to low ridership. Alternative weekend routes will be available.

Campus Connector Routes and Schedules
Campus Connector: New Three Route System
- For Fall 2026, the Campus Connector has transitioned from two routes to a new three-route system, providing improved service and connectivity across campus for students, faculty and staff.

East-West Circulator
Service operates approximately every 10-15 minutes during peak hours from 9am-5:30pm and every 15-25 minutes during early morning and late evening hours.

Central Circulator
Service operates approximately every 20-25 minutes throughout the day.

Service operates approximately every 30 minutes throughout the day.

Additional Buses On RTS Routes 9, 33 and 37
- Additional buses will be added to Routes 9, 33 and 37 during peak periods to help reduce overcrowding and improve service.

RTS Route 21: Service Continues For Fall 2026
- Route 21 began service in Spring 2026 and will continue operating during the Fall 2026 semester.
- The route operates along SW 20th Avenue, SW 43rd Street and SW 38th Terrace, providing additional service, along with Routes 20 and 33, to student residences west of campus.
- Route 21 operates Monday – Thursday from 7:30am – 6:00pm with service every 22 minutes throughout the day during weeks when classes are in session. The route does not operate during break weeks or the summer semester.

RTS Routes 9 and 38: No Weekend Service
- For Fall 2026, Routes 9 and 38 will no longer operate on Saturdays or Sundays due to low weekend ridership.
Weekend Alternatives:
Route 9 riders: Use Route 12 or 37 on weekends, depending on your location.
Route 38 riders: Use Route 1, 12 or 37 on weekends, depending on your location.
