Do you have questions?

Where can I park on campus?
You may park your vehicle in the permit-restricted lot, garage, or motorcycle/scooter zone for which you have a corresponding permit. To find where these areas are located, visit the current campus parking map.

If you do not have a permit, you may pay a daily fee to park your vehicle in the UF Bookstore and Visitor Welcome Center Garage, or pay to park in metered spaces around campus. If you are a patient or visiting a patient at Shands, you may park in the Shands Patient/Visitor Garage on Mowry Road.

Where can't I park on campus?
You may not park your vehicle in a reserved, handicapped, or carpool space unless you have a corresponding permit. You may not park in a service drive without a service drive permit. You may not park on sidewalks, roadsides, in bike lanes, on grassy areas, or in “No Parking” zones. You may not park your vehicle in a permit-restricted lot, garage or motorcycle/scooter zone unless you have a corresponding permit. You may not park in the Shands Visitor/Patient Garage if you are a UF/Shands student, faculty or staff member, unless you are a patient or visiting a patient.
What parking permit can I buy?
Permit eligibility requirements differ for faculty/staff members and for students. Faculty/staff permit eligibility is based on whether or not the faculty/staff member is benefits eligible, and in some cases on which permit they purchased in the previous permit year. Student permit eligibility is based on whether the student lives on or off campus and the number of credit hours earned.
What do I do if my permit is lost or stolen?
You must come to the Transportation and Parking Services Customer Relations Office located at 1273 Gale Lemerand Drive (Monday – Friday 8 AM – 4:30 PM) and fill out an affidavit to report your permit as lost or stolen. You may then purchase a replacement permit at a cost of $25.
Can I apply for a permit with a temporary tag on my car and then just change the tag on file when I get my permanent tag?
Anytime you change vehicles, temporarily or permanently, you can update your vehicle information here: web.taps.ufl.edu/portal.
What are my parking options if I don’t want to purchase an annual or semester parking permit?
Besides annual and semester options, TAPS also offers monthly, weekly and daily permit options for many permit types in order to accommodate customers who do not wish to drive their car to work every day. Please call 352-392-7275 for more information or visit us at 1273 Gale Lemerand Drive as we only supply weekly, monthly and daily permits in office. Vehicles without a valid UF parking permit may pay a daily fee to park in the Reitz Union/Welcome Center Garage, or pay to park in metered spaces around campus. Please view our visitors section for visitor parking options.
When are permit restrictions lifted?
Permit restrictions are in effect in most lots and garages on campus between 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday, and outside these hours, restrictions are lifted. However, some areas have different hours of restriction – please be sure to always check the signs at the lot or garage where you plan to park, as the specific hours for each area will be posted on the signs. Permit restrictions are lifted on weekends and University holidays. Some permit restrictions are also lifted during certain times of year. All other parking rules apply. See current campus parking restrictions for more information.
Why did I get a parking citation, and what do I have to do about it?
Parking citations are issued for violations of University parking rules and regulations. Citations may be paid or appealed. Citations must be paid or appealed within 15 days from the date of issuance of the citation, or a late fee will be assessed.

Please take a look at our Parking Info section on Citations. The appeal process information will be found there.

Why do I have to appeal a parking citation even if I didn’t do anything wrong?
Any citations that you dispute must go through the citation appeal process. Student Traffic Court Justices and Appeal Committee members are the only individuals allowed to determine fault and render judgments on citation appeals.
How can I find out about lot closings and parking for special events?
To get up-to-date information about lot closings and parking impacts, sign up for the TAPS Listserv. We’ll send you email updates on events affecting parking at UF. You can also check the TAPS website homepage for the latest Campus Parking Impact information.
What do I need to do with my permit if I leave employment at UF or UF Health?
If you leave employment at UF or UF Health, you will need to notify Transportation and Parking Services and return your permit to our offices (in person or through the mail) in order to stop payroll deduction permit payments and be refunded for any balance due.
What do I need to do with my permit if I am no longer a student at UF, or if I move off-campus?

Any balance due to you will be refunded (to receive a full refund on a student permit, it must be returned within 15 days of the date of purchase – permit refunds after this period will be pro-rated).

Semester permits have no refund value after 15 days from purchase and that daily, weekly, and monthly permits have no refund value at all.
